Jackrabbit Football: Recruiting Update

It has been awhile since I've had the chance to share much news on football.  With only a handful of scholarships left, the late signing period doesn't have a ton of buzz around it.  However, the quality sure is there even if the quantity is not.   I know the coaches are really excited about the players who recently verballed and also about the ones who currently hold offers. 

Let's kick it off with the two most recent verbals.


DL- Matt Borowicz, 6'4 255, Lakeville, MN (Lakeville South)
  • Participated in the Minnesota Prep All-Star game
  • Another big-framed kid that will be able to add weight and make an impact on the interior
  • Sheds blocks well and locates the ball carrier

FB-Mike Morgan, 6'3 210, New Lenox, IL (Lincoln-Way)
  • First team All-State in the 7a Division
  • 1140 rushing yards to go with 20 TDs
  • Runs hard, not afraid of contact, catches the ball well out of the backfield
The Jackrabbits still have offers out to two linebacker prospects as well as a punter/kicker.

Alright, another year of Jackrabbit football is upon us. We are celebrating at Jackrabbit Illustrated, this our 5th season covering the team.  The players who we first covered as freshmen are now redshirt seniors. We hope you are as excited as us for this upcoming season. Chef Tim, a culinary instructor at Mitchell Tech and contributing writer, has some fun recipes for you this season.  He has committed to doing one a week. I have nothing but faith that he will get them turned in! We start the season celebrating with celebrations. Guide to Fort Collins

The Jackrabbit games about FBS teams are always fun.  It is a chance to take in a different town and watch the team prove themselves against a foe who is one classification higher.  This year the Jacks aren't playing a Power 5 team but are playing a Great 5 team, Colorado State.  We have a guest contributor today, Jackrabbit legend Austin Sumner.  Austin was the starting QB from 2011 to 2014.  .  Below are some of his recommendations for Fort Collins.
