Men's Basketball 2018 recruits

Jackrabbit men's basketball Coach T.J. Otzelberger and his assistant coaches have had a busy summer.  With a successful 2017 recruiting class in the books, the coaches have shifted to 2018 and beyond.  Lets just say they have been busy!

The first to hop on board was Owen King a 6'3 PG from Caledonia, MN.  In his junior campaign, King averaged 19.7 points per game, while shooting 44% from the field including 61 made three pointers.  King also stuffed the stat sheet with 5.5 rebounds, 6.3 assists, and 3.2 steals per game.  Owen is also a standout quarterback and could have gone with college football as his sport.  This summer he is playing for the AAU squad the Wisconsin Playmakers.

Aaron Fiegen brings a familiar name to the roster as a 6'6 forward from Madison, SD. His highlight tape shows a long and athletic stretch four.   On a loaded Madison Bulldog squad, Fiegen averaged 15.6 points and 5.2 rebounds per game as a junior.  This summer Aaron has been playing for the Dakota Schoolers.  He had a strong month in June and quickly added offers from SDSU, NDSU, and Augustana.

Matt Mims is the most recent verbal to the class of 2018.  Matt joins SDSU via Xavier High School in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.  Matt is a 6'0 PG who averaged 15.3 ppg and 5.5 assists per game while setting Xaviers all-time assists record halfway through the season..  Matt is playing for the Martin Brothers AAU team.  He looks like a great a facilitator for his teammates and also a very capable shooter and slasher when needed. Mims had also received an offer from the University of North Dakota.

2019 big man Owen Coburn from Spirit Lake, Iowa is the first verbal for his class.   He is already 6'9 and scored 18.2 points per game and secured 9.5 rebounds as a sophomore!  It will certainly be exciting to watch his growth and development the next two years of high school basketball.  Owen also plays AAU basketball for Martin Brothers.

For the class of 2020, the Jacks have recently offered guards Isaac Lindsey and Noah King (Owen King's brother).  Both look to be excellent shooters and facilitators.  Jackrabbit Illustrated will keep you updated with any and all recruiting developments.

Go Jacks!
-Matt
