Football Recruiting Update:

Here is something to read as you get pumped for today's game.  I had to laugh as just 1 day after I gave my latest recruiting update with potential targets, the dominoes started falling into place for the Jackrabbits and the #JacksNat18n recruiting class. Two outstanding high school teammates joined the ranks and then they were joined a few days later by a name Brookings and SDSU fans will recognize.  This week the Jacks added another outstanding athlete from Brandon Valley which is certainly an SDSU pipeline.  Let's get to know these student athletes a little bit better.

DL: Sam Wilmott, 6'3 250, Rosemount, MN
  • Sam was the first to announce his commitment on Twitter.  Sam has a big family tie to SDSU with his grandpa and aunts and uncles all graduating from the Jackrabbits.  He originally planned his visit to keep his grandpa happy.
  • Once at SDSU he fell in love with the campus, the facilities, the coaches, and the team.
  • He plans to major in Exercise Science
  • He will play the 3 technique on the defensive line.
  •  Coach Bergstrom was his primary recruiter and his host players were Levi Brown, Michael Wandmaker, and Isaiah Hill.
  • Sam said he brings a strong work ethic and an ability to lift others up to the Jackrabbits.

OL: Ian Bass, 6'4, 280, Rosemount, MN
  • Ian and Sam are high school teammates and they announced their verbal commitments just hours apart.  Ian felt a unique feeling at SDSU that he didn't get at the other programs he visited.
  • He really like the family feeling that was around the program and the way the coaches treated everyone with respect.
  • He is a first generation Jackrabbit.
  • Coach Bergstrom was his primary recruiter and Aron Johnson was his host player on campus.
  • He plans to major in Ag Business
  • He will play somewhere along the offensive line but likely guard.
  • Ian said he brings a strong with ethic, will give 100% effort, and tries to be the best that he can be.

OL: Logan Busch, 6'4, 318, Iowa Western Community College/Beresford High School
  •  Logan grew up in Brookings before moving at the start of high school to Beresford
  • Dad and brother were both college athletes for SDSU
  • In his second year at IWCC, redshirted his year.
  • Campus visit was great and he loves the family atmosphere, the coaches, and the fans
  • Coach Eidsness and Eck recruited him along with defensive GA, Micky Russell.
  • Majoring in Physical Education
  • Logan says he can play center or either of the guard spots.
  • Logan shared that he brings great physicality and technique.  He also has the smarts to know not just the plays, but also everyone's assignments and can direct others.

DL: Cade Terveer, 6'3, 240, Brandon Valley, SD
  • Excited to be a Jackrabbit as he has always wanted to play for SDSU.  He wanted to stay close to home and he has a high school teammate who had already verballed (Max Howard) and a former teammate (Alex Wickersham) currently redshirting.
  • Cade is very quick off the ball and says that he has spent a lot of time working on timing drills.
  • Majoring in either Business or Physical Education
  • Will play defensive end
  • Recruited by Coach Eidsness
  • Attended Jr. Day last spring as well as summer camp.
  • Attended the victory over NDSU
  • Cade says that he brings a strong work ethic that gets others on board.  He loves to play football.

These four join the list of 13 other current verbals.
