Know Your Future Jackrabbits: Baily Darnell

 Baily

One athlete who got his name in before the rush of commitments this past weekend was Baily Darnell from Auburn, Nebraska.  Baily attended the SDSU Prospect Camp on  June 11th and received an offer shortly after.  His commitment continues the trend of find great talent in Nebraska.

Baily rushed for over 1,100 yards last season and was named honorable mention All-State.  However, he can play over the field and plays linebacker for the Auburn Bulldogs.  Baily said his game centers around his speed and quickness.  Baily showed this quickness by running a 4.14 in the pro agility drill at  SDSU.  Baily said that he will need to continue to get bigger and stronger in all areas in order to ease the transition to college.

A few of the reasons why Baily chose SDSU were because of the beautiful facilities and the coaches.  Baily appreciated that the coaches seemed to encourage and teach their philosophies.  A theme I've heard across these interviews is the family feel that the athletes have when they step on campus.  Baily is no exception as he named that as one of his reasons why SDSU.  Through his recruitment and camp experience Baily worked with Coach Jackson, Coach Rogers, and Coach Bergstrom.  At camp Baily spent time learning from Jordan Brown and was impressed how down to Earth the All-American cornerback was and how good of a teacher he was.

Baily has some big goals for his senior season.  His team is fresh off the Class C & D 7 on 7 Championship this summer and he wants that to carry over to the field.  His team goal is to win district and make a good run in the playoffs.  Baily's personal goal is the be named an All-State running back and exceed his yardage total from last year.

Good luck on your senior year and go Jacks!
