Know Your Future Jackrabbits: Quinton Hicks
It has been a few years since the Jacks had a Kansan on the roster but Quinton Hicks busted that trend on the last weekend in June. Hicks, a standout from Hayesville, Kansas, was named an All-State linebacker and tight end in 2017. However, Hicks will be switching to defensive end when he gets to campus in Brookings.
For his senior season Hicks has the goal of again leading his team in tackles (3 years running) and getting seven sacks. It will be harder to lead in tackles because he is moving to outside linebacker from middle linebacker. Hicks says that with the position switch he will be working on using his hands more because he won't be able to just use his speed at the next level.Only needed one offer to know where I want to continue my academic and athletic career... Quinton has had a busy summer both as a lifeguard at his local pool and by attending multiple camps. In the end he knew that SDSU was a good program and a good fit for him. Quinton liked all the coaches and had a good time on both his visits. His primary recruiter was Coach John Johnson and he says he learned a lot from Ryan Earith when he was up here for camp. He plans to major in business while on campus.
Good luck with your senior season and welcome to SDSU Quinton.
Go Jacks!
Matt
